Mortar & Foam Gun Questions

How do I get my mortar mix consistancy right?

Firstly, it is important that you only use the orange nozzles for mortar mix and not the white grouting nozzle, which is for tiling grout only. Building sand is not always the correct material to use, as this description does not always suggest you are getting Soft Building Sand. The best way to test that you are using the correct sand, is to rub the palm of your hand with the sand, if it stains your palm orange then you have soft building sand. This should ideally be mixed 3-4 parts sand to 1 part cement and plasticizer used to bind the mix together to ensure a smooth, creamy texture. Please note that sharp building sand must be never used.

Please check out our Video page in the support section for a full demonstration on using our Mortar guns.

* We are aware that there are ready mixes of mortar available on the market. These have not been tested by us and we learnt from talking to customers that they don’t seem to be creating the correct mixture, we suspect that this is due to plasticizer missing from the mixture.

I'm using my ultimate mortar gun as a sausage gun but it is blocking up the tube. What am I doing wrong?

The slit on the sausage has been done too high releasing the contents inside the tube, cut it in the front rather then on the side. Ensure it is only a small incision so mortar is directed through the nozzle.
